We are slowly approaching Sunday, a very important milestone for SevenSnap. We will be presenting you SevenSnap in a sneak preview.
We hope that you and the entire iPhone community will like the idea behind SevenSnap. This is why we want to make sure that our website is always available, even if larger tech blogs report on SevenSnap.
For this reason we will move to the RackSpaceCloud within the next few days. As the name implies, the RackSpaceCloud is run by RackSpace and is said to be one of the most advanced out-of-box cloud systems. The RackSpaceCloud is currently used by 24,000 customers. RackSpace operates data centers in North America, Europe and Asia.
Tomorrow night, we will initiate the DNS- update and the domain transfer. On Saturday night, every request should land on the new server system.
The usuage of SevenSnap requires a certain infrastructure – staff aswell as technology focused. For this reason SevenSnap can?t be published world-wide at once. So we release the app in Germany, Austria, Switzerland aswell as the US and Canada.
Because of the bandwith we are not sure if we can provide an US release at first because we have to provide the server-capicity for the app. Cloud-computing might be a possibility because it scalars with needs. It also reduces ping latency because US users can access US servers and European users can access Europe based servers.
We haven?t decided yet which server base we will use but we will make sure the servers will hold stance when the app will be released.
